Dancing

Sarah asked:

I’m completely unfamiliar with dance but my fiance and I would like to learn how. I am a fan of Frank Sinatra music and we will probably using one of his songs for our wedding song. We don’t want any formal lessons so if we know what type of dance to learn (like genre of dance) we can just get a how to DVD or something.

Any other pointers are greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

This is what the newspapers said back then : “The box office was besieged as never before. Tickets changed hands at more than 1,000 Pounds on the black market. Takings reached a record, breaking the previous best when Frank Sinatra was in town.”

Law Enforcement & Police

dcochary asked:

The Federal Bureau of Narcotics no longer exists, its purpose being taken over, at some point, by the Drug Enforcement Agency. I’d like to see Frank Sinatra’s complete, official FBN file and am wondering if its accessible online though I’d settle for a place to contact to have the file sent to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Jazz

drew lansing asked:

I like to listen to Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Tony Bennett and Dean Martin. I know there are elements of jazz in their music with the trumpets and saxophone and all that…But would you consider or call their music jazz or something else?

I have recently developed an appreciation of Frank Sinatra and would like to learn more about him. There are several biographies in the library and I would like a recommendation for a good one, one that talks about his good qualities and bad qualities.

Las Vegas

Peter O asked:

Every retrospective on Las Vegas I have seen has someone talking about the importance of booking Sinatra (and other acts well) because they “brought in the high rollers.” How did that work. Maybe I have seen to many movies where they are always comping tickets, but I thought those shows were free. Was it the ticket price that winnowed out the average Joe, and attracted people with money. Or did Frank Sinatra, and others have a “high roller following’?
